Kiryandongo has welcomed over 90,000 new arrivals fleeing conflict, expanding the settlement far beyond its planned capacity. Without urgent intervention, severe acute malnutrition among toddlers will turn a manageable crisis into a preventable tragedy.
€10 — one month of therapeutic food (RUTF) to rehabilitate a malnourished child
€20 — an Emergency Water & Hygiene Pack for 2 families
€50 — a Family Survival Basket for an entire month
€500 — funds a community health worker's outreach kit for 100+ children
A Mother's Choice in Block 4
Every morning before sunrise, 28-year-old Amina stands in line at the solar water pump in Kiryandongo's Ranch 37. She holds two yellow jerrycans and the hands of her four-year-old twin daughters, who fled violent clashes in Khartoum just four months ago.
After walking hundreds of kilometres to find safety in Uganda, Amina thought the hardest part of their journey was behind them. But today, safety comes with a different kind of trial. Recent global funding shortfalls have forced humanitarian agencies in Uganda to slice food aid to historic lows — families in Kiryandongo now survive on as little as 22% to 40% of standard daily rations, amounting to less than €3 per person, per month. For Amina, that means dividing one bowl of sorghum porridge between two growing girls and skipping her own meal entirely.
"When we were running, I prayed to keep my children alive until we crossed the border. Now that we are here, my prayer is just to give them one solid meal a day."
— Amina, resident of Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement
Kiryandongo has welcomed over 90,000 new arrivals fleeing conflict, expanding the settlement far beyond its planned capacity. Without immediate emergency intervention from compassionate donors, severe acute malnutrition among toddlers like Amina's twins will turn a manageable crisis into a preventable tragedy.
Faith in Action: A Sacred Duty to Help
In Islam, caring for the displaced, the hungry, and the vulnerable is a profound act of worship (Ibadah). Allah (SWT) reminds us in the Holy Qur'an:
"And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [saying], 'We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish from you neither reward nor gratitude.'"
— Surah Al-Insan (76:8-9)
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) also taught us that our charity never decreases our wealth:
"Charity does not decrease wealth."
— Sahih Muslim
Through Usira Charity Foundation, your Sadaqah and Zakat are delivered directly to the ground in Kiryandongo, bringing relief, hope, and dignity (Amanah) to families undergoing severe hardship.

Severe malnutrition — Global Acute Malnutrition in the settlement has spiked past safety thresholds as targeted feeding clinics face operational cuts
Critical water deficits — pumping infrastructure is stretched to maximum limits, forcing families to queue up to 6 hours for clean water

Help Us Build a School
Pallisa Islamic Primary School is a proposal to build a permanent place of learning in Pallisa, where 300 children can study safely and with dignity, in an environment rooted in faith, knowledge and service. The plans are drawn and the fundraising goal is set, but no foundation has been laid yet.
Six permanent classrooms, a library, a safe drinking-water point and separate latrine blocks for boys and girls are planned, with completion targeted for 2027. Every great building begins with a first stone, and we are inviting you to help us lay it. Your gift, large or small, moves this school from paper to ground.
Faith in Action: Knowledge as a Trust
Islam places the pursuit and provision of knowledge among its highest callings. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) taught:
"Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim."
— Sunan Ibn Majah
Every classroom this campaign will build is Sadaqah Jariyah — ongoing charity whose reward continues long after the walls are finished, carried forward through every child who learns to read inside them.
